Did you know it’s possible to have a great herb garden all throughout the year? All you need is a kitchen and some light and you’ll be all set.
The biggest question is what to grow. If you’re like me, you want to grow basil, oregano, cilantro and a couple other fabulous herbs. These herbs are not just great, they’re space conscious. You won’t need loads of space to grow them.
There’s many ways to set up your kitchen herb garden for year-round enjoyment. One way would be to get together a couple small pots or containers and put them in a nice spot in the kitchen that gets light-the windowsill is a great place. Once setup, you’ll have fresh, natural herbs all year long. Ah, so lovely. Heck, there could even be snow outside and it won’t matter.
Your next step will be to get some planters kits. They make them specifically for growing herb gardens inside. You can visit your local nursery or home improvement store to find them. Some craft stores also carry the kits. A typical kit may come with a pot, soil, seeds and perhaps some decorations. In other words, you’ll be all ready to go.
Remember, your herbs will need sun, but not so much that they burn. If you’re used to shaking your herbs out of a bottle, you don’t know what you’re missing. Nothing is better than fresh herbs. And with an indoor herb garden being so easy to setup, there’s no excuse for not having them always.
