TOCOBO Bio Watery Sun Screen SPF 50 Broad Spectrum | Korean Sunscreen (50ml)
Disappears Into Your Skin.
What It Is
TOCOBO Bio Watery Sun Screen SPF 50 is a lightweight daily sunscreen formulated to meet U.S. FDA OTC standards — making it the rare K-beauty SPF you can trust is fully compliant and rigorously tested for the American market. Four proven chemical UV filters deliver complete broad-spectrum UVA + UVB protection with no white cast on any skin tone. The silicone-silk texture absorbs in under 30 seconds, leaves a smooth, pore-blurred finish, and layers seamlessly under foundation without pilling or sliding. Cica and Panthenol keep skin calm and hydrated throughout the day. 50ml / 1.69 fl oz.
Active Ingredients (U.S. Drug Facts)
| Avobenzone 2.7% | Sunscreen — UVA Protection |
| Homosalate 13.5% | Sunscreen — UVB Protection |
| Octisalate 4.5% | Sunscreen — UVB Protection |
| Octocrylene 9% | Sunscreen — UVB + Avobenzone Stabilizer |
Use: Helps prevent sunburn. If used as directed with other sun protection measures, decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.
Why Chemical Sunscreen? What That Means For Your Skin
- Zero white cast on every skin tone. Chemical filters work by absorbing UV radiation and converting it to harmless heat energy. Unlike mineral sunscreens (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) which sit on top of skin as visible particles, chemical filters dissolve into the formula and dry completely clear. No chalky residue, no gray cast on deeper skin tones, no flashback in photos.
- Invisible, serum-weight texture. Without heavy mineral particles in the formula, the texture stays genuinely watery — it spreads effortlessly and absorbs in seconds, leaving skin feeling like you're wearing nothing at all.
- Broad-spectrum coverage: UVA AND UVB both blocked. Avobenzone handles the full UVA spectrum — the rays responsible for premature aging, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. Homosalate, Octisalate, and Octocrylene collectively cover UVB — the rays that cause sunburn and DNA damage. Together they cover every wavelength that damages skin.
- Built-in photostabilization. Avobenzone is the gold standard UVA filter in the US — but it's known to degrade in sunlight on its own. This formula includes Octocrylene at 9% specifically to stabilize the Avobenzone, preventing photodegradation and ensuring your protection holds all day. This is good sunscreen formulation science, not a coincidence.
- Makeup-friendly from the first swipe. No white film means no interference with foundation, tinted moisturizers, or setting powder. It sets to a smooth, pore-blurred base that holds makeup better than many primers.
The 4-Filter Broad-Spectrum System
The most widely used UVA filter in the US market. Provides coverage across the full UVA spectrum (320–400nm) — the wavelengths responsible for photoaging, dark spots, and hyperpigmentation. Used here at near-maximum concentration.
A dual-purpose filter: absorbs UVB rays and — critically — actively stabilizes Avobenzone to prevent photodegradation. Without a stabilizer, Avobenzone breaks down in sunlight. Octocrylene keeps the UVA protection working all day. Also contributes to the formula's smooth, spreadable skin feel.
A photostable UVB filter that also functions as a liquid solvent for other UV filters — it helps Avobenzone and other powdered filter ingredients dissolve uniformly into the formula, improving texture and coverage consistency.
A lightweight UVB filter that also helps improve water resistance and stabilizes other UV filters in the formula. Contributes to the lightweight, non-greasy texture and helps the formula hold up through sweat and humidity.
All four active ingredients are FDA-approved for use in OTC sunscreen products and have been used safely in sunscreens for decades. This product is registered with the U.S. FDA as an OTC drug (PICTON CO., Ltd.).

Texture, Finish & Feel
Milky, almost serum-like consistency — spreads across skin in seconds without tugging or dragging.
Silica provides a pore-blurring effect. Caprylyl Methicone gives a soft, silky skin feel. Non-greasy, non-sticky.
Absorbs fully and sets quickly. Foundation layers over it without pilling, sliding, or breaking down mid-day.
Skincare Actives — Beyond the SPF
The defining ingredient of Korean "skin-healing" skincare. Centella Asiatica is a botanical extract prized for its ability to calm inflammation, reduce redness, support the skin barrier, and accelerate wound healing. Its inclusion here makes this a genuinely skin-soothing SPF — particularly beneficial for post-exfoliation days, reactive skin, or those prone to sun-triggered redness.
A humectant that binds water into the skin and prevents moisture loss — keeping skin soft and comfortable even on days when sunscreen is your only hydration step. Also soothes inflammation and supports skin repair. Zero comedogenicity, safe for all skin types.
Fine-grain silica particles scatter light and visually blur the appearance of pores and fine lines — providing a soft-focus skin effect without heavy coverage. Also controls any surface shine, helping the finish stay fresh throughout the day.
A lightweight silicone that gives the formula its signature silky, skin-gliding application feel. Also contributes to a smooth, even primer-like surface after the sunscreen sets.
A pair of plant-derived humectants that maintain skin hydration and also serve as mild antimicrobial agents — supporting the formula's preservation without the need for traditional parabens or harsh preservatives.
How To Use
- Oily skin: Set with a light translucent powder after application. The formula wears beautifully through the day but can develop slight shine on very oily T-zones after 5–6 hours.
- Dry skin: Use a moisturizer underneath first. The Panthenol adds hydration but this is primarily a protective SPF, not a replacement for a rich moisturizer in dry conditions.
- Sensitive skin: Cica makes this formula particularly well-suited for reactive skin types. Still do a patch test if you know you're sensitive to chemical sunscreen actives.
- Double cleanse at night: Chemical sunscreen actives are oil-soluble — use an oil cleanser or cleansing balm first to break them down, then follow with a water-based cleanser.
- Eye area: Keep away from eyes — chemical filters can sting on contact. Apply carefully around the orbital bone and use an eye-specific SPF if needed for that area.
- AHA/BHA users: If you exfoliate with acids, this SPF is essential the next morning. Freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to UV damage.
